New eBay payment method

I'm sorry I don't like the new eBay payment for sellers where you have to have your bank account added to receive payments when you sell something, I can't use the buyers money they pay to print off the shipping label to ship their item out, there's no option like paypal has to select that and if I knew I wouldn't have set it up, it takes forever pending and I have to use my money already in my bank to print it off but I don't always have the money to do that! Sometimes I'm broke after paying my bills and buying food for my baby and me and household items but anyways how do I remove it? I tried deleting it but keeps asking to add a new one but I want to go back to using PayPal it was easier and faster. Please let me know if you know how thank you

Re: New eBay payment method

Not sure how you’re calculating. 12.35% (including item, shipping and tax) + .30. Some categories Books dvds etc is 14.35, but doesn’t appear you sell those items. @naplesfl

Everyone has options. Just be sure the best option is right for you.

I agree with you. I liked using Paypal. don't want to give ssn & link a bank account for lil' rare sales on ebay.

Re: New eBay payment method

I can't see anything worse than having ALL your money from transactions tied up without

cause by Paypal's holding jail. Of course take a trip into the Paypal bot cycle world or, the rare

"success" of actually dealing with a living entity, the script running by you is practically the

same. Of course "Ebay made them do it, requesting a hold on funds from subsequent

transactions....then confronting Ebay, Ebay denies they made any such request so now the

story changes to script #Catch 22. That is, "well, you're new and we need some security"...

Why? You going to drop any of your ill begotten loot in my lap "for safe keeping?"

I have news for you, Paypal, my business is with Ebay. Your bead counting and our money

passing through your hands is not business, it's a trust. I don't say that an Anti-Trust law says

that. So if you don't qualify as a simple thief, you do as an outlaw. And if the Supreme Court

ever decides to do its job you will be fried. Wonder if they have reverse sympathy cards,

something that puts out an horrendous laugh when you open it. I may send some barbecue

sauce with it. You have $3,200 of my money in your hip pocket. I will do what I can to see

you choke on it. James Horak

Re: New eBay payment method

Just took my items off Ebay last night because of the new payment. No way I will be giving Ebay my SSN# and a bank account number.  I worked in Cyber Security for over ten years and those numbers are the magic combination for identity theft.

Re: New eBay payment method

You gave PayPal your SS#, as we all did. As for banking account#, routing#, etc., those are printed on every check you happily hand or send to someone you've never seen in your life. And eBay has never been hacked for any member's financial information in the 25 years they've existed.

Re: New eBay payment method

Yes, but we need to start working together, we sellers, to get Ebay to use its clout on PayPal in order to stop

them from being arbitrary with our money. I was cheated out of a number of legitimate agreements with other

sellers on price reductions (the offer option) when I could not fulfill my part of the bargain because I did not

have access to that money and still don't. Ebay agrees its wrong but says they can do nothing about it. I quite

frankly don't buy that. Does any of you? James Horak

Re: New eBay payment method

Let me be clear with an actual illustration any of you sellers can check out. I want crazylady's

samurai sword and have bargained her down to where I will pay an agreed price on it NOW.

And NOW there is enough money in this arbitrary hold Paypal has applied, without cause, to buy

it but not In my balance. This is an infraction of anti-trust law derived from our Constitutional

guarantee of free commerce. Paypal is outside the law, fairness, human decency and what each

and everyone one us have a right to expect. If you think, on any of my points, I'm wrong, tell me

why. James Horak

No, it is not.  Pay another way.

Re: New eBay payment method

We're not talking about choice here, shadow, but what's ALREADY in Paypal coffers of money

that belongs to SOMEONE ELSE. Why don't you get that? Believe me, after I learned what

license Paypal can take with money that doesn't belong to them I AM looking for other

alternatives. But then there is another consideration, isn't there? Ebay listing them on

each and EVERY listing of an item as the instrument of CHOICE  to use for payment. That's

called, if you didn't know, shadow, PROMOTION. James Horak

Re: New eBay payment method

I absolutely agree with this change. Sooo I ship an item and don't see any payment for 2-4 days? Sounds like we are all open to fraud and manipulation. At least with Paypal I had the funds immediately to use for shipping costs etc. I think my eBay selling days are over too, it's a shame after over 20 years with them.

Re: New eBay payment method

I agree with everybody here that says this new ebay monopoly on payment is COMPLETE AND UTTER NONSENSE!!! This should not be allowed to continue. As previously mentioned, getting the money for an item sold days after the sale has been done is unfair for the buyer and the seller a like. I sold an item yesterday and thankfully i had an understanding customer that is patiently waiting for payment to clear before i ship his item. I even went as far as getting the label already printed and the package boxed up and ready to leave. But this is the first item under the new method.

EBAY ARE YOU LISTENING???? This is definitely NOT what we signed up for. Current fees for selling items on your website are very very high and now this?! Very very unfair if you ask me. As someone else mentioned, they took down their items because of this. I am definitely considering doing the same, and after being on ebay both buying and selling for almost 15 years.

SUCKS!! BIG TIME!!

Re: New eBay payment method

I have been selling on eBay since 1998. I am NOT turning my bank account access over to eBay. My bank debit card was hacked twice in the last year by bank insiders at a major national bank creating huge credit problems for me that the bank would not acknowledge and did nothing to correct.  "We do not investigate hacking that deeply" (by bank insiders) was their response. Must be a lucrative job without penalties.

This is probably the last straw for me with eBay which has constantly made selling on eBay more problematic for me.  Once this stupid change goes into effect I intend to close my two eBay accounts. It is no longer worth my time, effort and frustration. I can make more money per hour flipping burgers at a greasy hamburger joint.

Another Big plus for Amazon!

Did we have an option? I thought we had to use the bank accounts.  I really do not want to do it this way. I have something to ship right now, I'm not using my owe money for shipping.   I can't get the money from ebay yet.  This is the dumbest thing they have done.  If this is the only way to sell on here, I am going to close all my accounts.  I don't like that it will be jamming up my bank account.  I hope they do not try and keep my bank info.  I am going to delete it, remove all listings.  If they do not delete my check account, I believe I can just call the bank and have they blocked?  Someone help please.  I am disabled and I take care of my very sick husband. I just want out.
