Managed payments

This will be my second time posting as I guess I was unclear I sold an item for approximately $45 local pick up the buyer wanted to cancel since he was in another state so we did. Immediately I started having troubles issuing him a refund on the same day he tried to buy it. The messages are we're getting we're saying I need to add $38.89 in order to process the refund since eBay already took their share of the money managed payments would not give me a penny a nickel a dime or a dollar any money whatsoever from the buyer eBay essentially held the buyers money hostage until I pay the refund and then they claim they would have returned it to me since my credit card is already in the negative this would not have been an ideal situation to have to pay all this money and then have to wait for eBay to reimburse me to $6 they took out.

it is my belief that eBay managed payments should make it simple or at least similar to that of PayPal when I sell something if it doesn't work I should be able to easily produce a full refund just like when I had PayPal. I have been selling on eBay since 2013 are still have a 100% positive feedback rating as a seller. And I sold thousands of things.

And I've given countless refunds. Never have I had to take money from my own earnings to completely facilitate a refund while eBay patiently sits on the money and there's absolutely nothing with it except cause 12 to 14 hours of my time on customer service trying to resolve this and one upset customer buyer who has left me not positive feedback.

I hope everyone can band together on this as I am not going to sell on eBay anymore if it risks me being charged up to several thousand dollars which will essentially make me homeless if I cannot pay my rent and my bills. And this has occurred once before because PayPal made a mistake.Essentially if I link my bank account and somebody wants a refund for let's say I sold a radio transmitter for $1,700. And then a month later that $1,700 will be deducted from my bank even though I never received it this is not a way to do business it's a way to make somebody broke and possibly homeless.

if eBay received the money through managed payments and a refund through eBay is initiated why can they not connect the dots and make that happen without me having to spend 12 to 14 hours on the phone each agent would send me back to a different department back and forth telling me the other department was responsible.

I also have a full-time job several times I've had to spend so much time with eBay I've had to take time out of work to try to resolve matters managedpayment seems like a nightmare already and it's only been the first day I believe it was like 12 noon I signed up for managed payments and I have people buy things all the time somebody happened to buy something within that time before I initiated my credit card I was actually in the process of linking my bank account to manage payments when a sale occurred and immediately I tried to process the refund without first linking my bank

I mean is this hard to understand is it's hard to comprehend

if eBay is in the center of it all why can the right hand not know what the left hand is doing and the left-hand and right-hand are throwing me back and forth to each other trying to figure out who is responsible or capable of producing a refund it took a 30-day. And now my account selling privileges have been suspended unless I pay a $6 fee that is associated with this sale that has already been refunded. No I'm not going to pay that $6 I'm going to stop selling on eBay after so much time that has been spent and the disrespect from the employees as I explained to them I simply came back from that department please don't put me back there and they don't listen to me put me back and I spent hours back and forth because they don't know what to do and they juggle you back and.

Although this is just a bad customer service situation.

why can't I buy a step in after several hours of their employees time has been used for the same matter and no conclusion has been made.

So ultimately I am no longer a seller at the moment and I advise anybody who is thinking of selling on eBay to look at how hard it is to be a seller on eBay it doesn't pay even if I buy something for $10 and sell it for $20 on eBay I feel it will not be worth it. Because of the amount of time that I spend far exceeds the amount of time I could be working and making money that would exceed the value of the sale ultimately making it not feasible financially to do business on eBay because of the amount of time required to chase such a small amount of money but if you don't chase your money you end up getting ripped off. So as a seller I wish everybody to read all of the fine print and good luck potential victims

Anyway if anybody has any advice or comments please feel free to add thank you

Managed payments

Thank you for sharing your experience.  I have been selling on Ebay since 2000.  I am not going to sell anymore.  I ended my last auction.   I don't need all this trouble and there is NO WAY I am giving Ebay access to my bank account.

I think Face Book Market place and Craigs List is where most people are going.

Good Luck

In the final analysis, it's either MP or start over.

Beyond the day-to-day trials and tribulations, the liberty you must give them with your data ought to make MP a non-starter; so yes, read the fine print.
