Last night we had an item sell for $18.95 plus $3.95 shipping... just as we offered in the listing.
However, somehow the buyer processed the order at check-out and was able to pay $16.36 for the item... plus $3.95 shipping. In essence, we were shorted $2.59.
We called Customer Support and they were unable to find the source of the problem. They kept confusing "promoted listings" with "promotions"... and neither was associated this particular problem. In reality, they were just guessing and had no idea why the glitch occurred.
The "discount" offered to the buyer amounted to approx. 13.7%... a discount we've never used. Admittedly, it's a small discrepancy... Then again, it should be impossible to get the sales price wrong... particularly on such a standard listing with no discounts integrated into the offer.
Everything else seemed to go normally... and the issue hasn't replicated elsewhere that we know of.
We were not running any promotions on the listing; made no "best offers" or discounts. It likely caught our eye only because of the unusual amount: $16.36 (instead of $18.95)

They paid $16.36, or you received $16.36? eBay is taking their FVF directly from the buyer's payment under the Managed Payments system; could that be the difference?
