Gift card payment

I'm HOPING this is the right spot for it - 

I'm unable to use any other form of payment other than PayPal (for some reason) . I have some money (from a previous gift card) in my account, and I just got a $50 gift card for Christmas as well. 

I don't know if it's related problem, but I can't find a way to "Reload" my Wallet. Do you just use the card, and not have a $ account? 

What am I missing? Thanks for any help you can give.

Correct.

The way eBay gift cards operate now ... they cannot be redeemed to any account prior to being used for a purchase.

The balance on the card that you had previously used should appear on the checkout page.

You can choose to use it when you are making a purchase.

You can also use the redemption code box to apply part or all of the new card.

If the seller uses Paypal to recevie payments, Paypal will require that you log in to your PP account before completing an eBay gift card funded payment.

According to the eBay gift card FAQ, you may need to use a PayPal account in order to redeem a gift card. (This used to always be the case, but I don't know how it is affected when the seller is in Managed Payments.)
