Getting paid

I have a buyer wanting my PayPal email address to pay me. Is this safe?

Re: Getting paid

No!

that’s an indication of a scam, especially since sellers don’t get paid through PayPal anymore.  Also, all a buyer needs to do is click Pay Now to pay you.

Re: Getting paid

No, not safe. They will e-mail you a message that you have been paid, when you actually haven't been paid, and hope you fall for it. Make sure you only sell it through eBay, not through messages. Just ask them to pay you through the eBay sale of the item. They don't need any information from you in order to pay. They only need to buy the item on eBay and eBay will provide the payment information to them.

Re: Getting paid

Oh my, you are about to get screwed.  NEVER EVER give your email address to a buyer.   Do yourself a big favor and write this on ALL of your ads to hopefully scare off the majority of scammers.

"Payment is due in 4 days and MUST be made through the Ebay PAY NOW button. ALL payments are verified in MY EBAY before the item is shipped.  Items will ONLY be shipped on the shipping address that ebay provides with the payment.  ASK all questions before bidding."

That is it.    Now before you list more stuff, why don't read some of the threads here on selling and hopefully you can have a  long, successful and profitable career on ebay.

Do not contact buyers outside of eBay. That will restrict your account. Tell that buyer to make the purchase via eBay.
