Why add feedback after transactions when sellers do not bother to give feedback?

Not exactly sure what you're asking. Am sure you know that FB is optional for either party, not required. You can leave it or not, whichever suits you. eBay does remind you, I think, but still not a requirement.

Many sellers don't leave feedback because eBay doesn't allow them to leave anything but positive feedback. As a result they won't leave feedback because they can't leave their honest opinion.

Feedback is entirely voluntary.
Some users only leave feedback after receiving feedback.
If you care about receiving feedback, leaving feedback is a good way to get feedback from such users.

I'm not sure what the OP is asking, either
I don't think eBay allows either buyers or sellers to enter feedback before a transaction is completed.

Research a seller's feedback left for others BEFORE you buy from them if you place that much importance on receiving feedback.

I find it to be the other way around. I have given 6214 FB to my buyers, but have only received 2695. 44% of my buyers leave me FB. 99.9% of my buyers receive FB from me.

eBay is deliberately favoring sellers with its feedback policy. eBay allows sellers to automate the feedback process such that ONLY when a buyer leaves POSITIVE feedback FIIRST, then the automated process will leave feedback for the seller.
I had a situation where I contacted a seller after the successfully completed sale looking for the feedback. They were so rude and refused unless I left feedback first! I had successfully completed my part of the sale and that is what the seller's feedback for me is all about.
I ended up leaving NEGATIVE feedback for the seller for their awful customer service in refusing to leave feedback first (yes I know feedback is optional), and eBay removed it!! And I never got feedback!
In the past, I ALWAYS got feedback first, and right after I completed my part of the sale, i.e., paying for the item. Now, it seems I don't get feedback at all since I will not leave feedback first. That is not right.

Your feedback was removed because you violated ebay policy.
