Bank Hook Up Problems

On March 22, 2022 I completed my first auction since being forced into the Managed Payments system.  I am still trying to get my payments from Ebay.

The problem is connecting my bank to their system.  It is a Canadian bank but it is on their drop down menu so, obviously, they can work with it.

The first two times I contacted their Help Desk by phone and was told to re-enter my bank information and wait 2-4 days.  It should work, no problem.  (After this I started using the Chat feature.  This is better because it sends you a transcript when it’s done.)  I have contacted them through Chat on Apr. 6, Apr. 8, Apr. 10, Apr. 19, Apr.21 and Apr. 25.

Here’s a quote from my April 6 conversation:

05:42:06 UTC almost50

How can you guarantee the microdeposits will be there by end of day tomorrow?

05:43:28 UTC Kumar

As it may take a maximum of 2-4 working days the micro deposit was initiated on April 02 counting from April 02, the last date is April 07 which is tomorrow thats why I can assure the micro deposit will be credited by tomorrow end of the day.

That didn’t happen so they started telling me I needed a Canadian dollar account, not a US dollar account.  So I created a Canadian dollar account but the results have been the same.  (I have been able to use this Canadian dollar account with other online businesses but it isn’t working with Ebay.)

I have asked several times for them to send me my money in some other fashion so I can move on and suggested that they make me a payment on PayPal or with an e-transfer.

Ebay says they can’t send me money in any other fashion.  That is not true. Anyone can send money on PayPal or with an e-transfer.  All Ebay needs is my email address and they have that.  What Ebay means is they won’t do it.  A well-run company would do what had to be done to make things right for their customers.

The problem, of course, is I have no leverage.  They have my money and they feel no great motivation to get it to me.  Any sort of legal action would be a waste of time as legal fees would eat up the money I’m trying to collect.

So, I’m caught in a Groundhog day-like loop with Ebay staff, every session ending with a promise that it will work in a day or two.

All I can do is warn other Ebay sellers to beware.  Customer service is not a priority to Ebay.

PS- Every time after I complete an interaction I get an immediate email asking me to rate Ebay’s customer service.  Since they have not solved my problem I tell them their service is lousy.  It doesn’t do any good.

Bank Hook Up Problems

Agreed this eBay sucks I keep requesting a phone call I sit there and watch my phone they don’t call but I get an email saying that they tried with a list of four reasons of which none are true. I sold a $1200 painting Mailed it locally yesterday and it was delivered today. Payments are on hold until May 29 because it says the tracking information doesn’t match the postal carrier. Again can’t speak with anybody because their employees are probably sitting somewhere falsifying their correspondence documentation. Meanwhile eBay is earning interest on my $4500 I’ve sold in the last 30 days. That’s all they care about and of course their fees are subtracted from my account immediately so they get their money. Somebody should call the news channel. You know what they call this in domestic situations —-it’s called financial abuse.

You're a newer seller and your funds will be held, just like it was for the rest of us.

Since the painting sold for more then $1000, they'll hold those funds for 30 days.

No, they are not earning any interest.

Have a great day.
