Picked up a couple yards of this crispy, crinkly fabric. Almost identical front and back. Only a shadow can be seen through when held to strong light. A sort of faux quilted look. Nearly impossible to wrinkle. Slight one-way stretch. Reminds me a bit of the plastic curtains we used to hang in windows on my childhood farm, but not plastic. Fabric, age and possible uses would all be appreciated. Photos below. Thanks for looking.

It looks like a manmade fabric, which may have been heat embossed during the printing process, but that is a guess. If it was heat embossed, ironing it will destroy most of the embossure...

Would have been used for a belted shift dress or a robe. Sold for convenience -- wash and wear, no iron. As I remember, early 1960s. I'd call it "embossed nylon" but there may be another name.
