Parts compatibility using File Exchange in Europe

I'm not able to enter compatibility using the format for .com listings and I'm told there is a different syntax for each market.  Where can I found out more about what is involved?  I'm talking about FR IT and ES

Hi @alpenksg

First of all, you can download the master vehicle lists for FR, IT, and ES at:

https://espacevendeurs.ebay.fr/annonces/augmenter-visibilite-annonces/compatibilite-pieces-detachees...
https://spaziovenditori.ebay.it/creare-inserzioni/aumentare-la-visibilita/compatibilita-pezzi-ricamb...
https://centroparavendedores.ebay.es/anuncios/consejos-para-destacar-tus-anuncios/compatibilidad-pie...

In your file, you can specify compatible vehicles by Ktype (notes are optional) or by make, model, and platform (type, engine, and notes are optional). In the Relationship column, you would enter the word "Compatibility" (without quotation marks). In the RelationshipDetails column, you would enter the ktype or make, model, and platform. Here are examples:

Ktype=10109|Notes=manual transmission only
FR_Make=Peugeot|FR_Model=Expert|FR_Platform=224|FR_Type=1.8|FR_Engine=1761 ccm, 74 KW, 101 PS|Notes=manual transmission only
FR_Make=Renault|FR_Model=Thalia II|FR_Platform=LU
IT_Make=Fiat|IT_Model=Ritmo|IT_Platform=138|IT_Type=90 i.e 1.6|IT_Engine=1585 ccm, 66 KW, 90 PS|Notes=manual transmission only
ES_Make=Toyota|ES_Model=Yaris|ES_Platform=P9|ES_Type=1.3 VVT-i|ES_Engine=1298 ccm, 64 KW, 87 PS|Notes=manual transmission only

Re: Parts compatibility using File Exchange in Europe

Thank you!  Very helpful.  The File Exchange Advanced Manual doesn't provide much help.  I'd like to read this in English but can't find it at .com or .co.uk.  Also, where can I find vehicle list for motorcycles and other power sport vehicles?  I imagine it's in each seller center, but I can't find them.

Also, where can I find the "Platform" numbers for other markets?

Re: Parts compatibility using File Exchange in Europe

Hi @alpenksg

We expect to publish guides for motor vehicle parts & accessories for various country sites (which would appear in "Learning Resources" of Seller Hub Reports). We don't know when that will be done.

There are not master vehicle lists for motorcycles/power sports for FR, IT, ES. When motorcycles/power sports items are listed on those country sites, there is not an option to add part compatibility.

As you're probably aware, you can the Master Powersports Vehicle Lists (Motorcycles, ATVs, etc.) for ebay.com at:

https://pages.ebay.com/motors/compatibility/download.html

Re: Parts compatibility using File Exchange in Europe

Last fall I paid a guy to create a motorcycle compatibility file for DE.  It worked and compatibility appears in our DE listings.  But now it doesn’t work (for DE, FR, IT or ES). He used a slightly different format:

DEM_Make=Honda|DEM_Model=CBR|DEM_CCM=1000|DEM_Submodel=F|DEM_StreetName=--|Year=1987

Since that format is now not working, I thought I’d try the one provided above.  But I’m missing the “Platform” number/code for DE.

BTW, the category # for our parts, 177780 Auto & Motorrad: Teile > Motorradteile > Ansaug- & Kraftstoffsysteme > Kraftstoffpumpen, is the same in de, FR, IT and ES.  I’m thinking compatibility is up and running in some markets—I have found the DE master Motorcycle compatibility list.  I’m hoping it’s the same one FR, IT and ES use.  If I can get a source for the Platform I’ll give it a try.

Re: Parts compatibility using File Exchange in Europe

Hi @alpenksg

Platform is applicable to cars and trucks. However, it is not applicable to motorcycles. You mentioned using the format below for motorcycles on ebay.de:

DEM_Make=Honda|DEM_Model=CBR|DEM_CCM=1000|DEM_Submodel=F|DEM_StreetName=--|Year=1987

That format appears to be correct. I even uploaded a file with that exact format and it worked for me.

I just filed a complain with the Emperor of Europe and demanded a complete investigation.

Scotland Yard is involved.

Re: Parts compatibility using File Exchange in Europe

Thank you for your feedback.  It helped me figure out what I had been doing wrong.  File Exchange is difficult to master, and compatibility complicates things.  I understand it better now.  But I do not understand why motorcycle compatibility is not available in FR IT and ES after all this time.  If it is available in DE, it should be available in other major Int'l markets, at the least.  It has been figured out for .com, why not everywhere?
