I am in favor of legislation that would require all vehicles prior to 1981 be either inoperative to be retrofit with late-model system to enhance the enviornment.
Those old cars are gross polluters and their value is in decline anyway. Crush them up or make them inop.

Volvos, too?

I thought cash for clunkers took care of that.

The oldest Volvo that I ever owned was an 86 model. I say get rid of all of those polluters.

The guy that bought this car is gonna love you.

I'd rather drive my 77 Firebird then any car made today.
One thing wrong with vehicles made today, they have a lot of useless junk they could do away with.

I respectfully disagree of course. What's worse? A guy driving his meticulously maintained 1969 Camaro or the countless millions of people running around out there daily in their ho-hum Hondas, Ford Escorts, and so on with the CEL illuminated and in some cases flashing?
As a long time mechanic I guarantee you there are plenty of the latter. There's also the issue of how much pollution is caused by countless trips to the parts store to shotgun parts on a wild guess, countless misdiagnoses at various shops, and countless towings not to mention the production of all of those unneeded parts. And FWIW, problems can and do exist without setting a DTC.

I doubt you'll find that a popular opinion. There are way too many well-preserved and classic cars out there whose owners would vigorously oppose your suggestion. Besides, their numbers are few enough that their contribution to overall pollution may not even be measurable.

"Making All Vehicles Prior to 1981 Inoperative"
Sounds very far left to me, maybe the dems can include it in their Green New Deal.

People rarely use old cars and they drive modern cars in everyday life. I believe that the old car should remain unchanged

Absolutely gorgeous rides, Thank you for sharing. I am hoping to have my 74 hatchback on the road this spring.
What started out as telling the wife the plan was to throw a couple of fenders on it and flip it has now become a not single nut or bolt not removed cleaned, modified, replaced or other. The wife just laughs and said I knew that would happen because you can never cover stuff up or do it half way. It has progressed from when these pics were taken but the only ones I have here to share.

That is extremely unlikely to happen ALL
Too many car collectors
there is a car show every year in my town
I love seeing the old cars out again
great community gathering
there some real beauties out there and you want to "crush" them
Not going to happen
Plus
although i am not a car collector myself i do appreciate a well made item from the past
An attempt to erase history ? automotive style
OR
You would not be a car dealer or work for one would you???
