It is impossible to tell from a photograph of a vehicle whether the person listing it is engaged in a scam, but there are some warning signs to look out for.
If you found an ad on another site, and sent your contact information to a seller there, who responded that eBay would "handle the deal" -- then I am afraid you are dealing with a scammer.
That is not how eBay works. eBay does not rely on users finding ads on Facebook or other sites and sending contact information to a seller. Likely the seller will send a phony "invoice" that appears to be from eBay but is not, asking you to pay with gift cards to have the vehicle shipped to you for a free evaluation period.
eBay has no warehouse and does not ship vehicles. eBay does not handle such transactions or provide "vehicle protection orders". Scammers often promise those things, though. Any phone number you may receive on such an "invoice" does not connect to eBay, but to the scammer.
Anyone that asks you to purchase gift cards or to send card codes to them to complete a transaction is trying to take advantage of you. Anyone asking for a gift card is looking for a gift at your expense. Once anyone else knows the code, your money will be gone and you will have no recourse.

The only way to purchase a vehicle on eBay is to sign in to eBay.com, find the vehicle on eBay and complete the checkout process on eBay. You may have to pay a deposit. Then you typically meet the seller to inspect the vehicle and pay the seller.
If you encountered an ad on another site, contact that site to have the ad removed. eBay is not involved with any ads listed on sites other than eBay itself.

This is a total scam! The same Toyota Tacoma in your link is posted on these boards somewhere and the Op is asking the same thing you are.
Stop all communication and move on. Glad you didn't fall for this scam.
eburtonlab has posted some great info!

That is not an ebay website.

Consider it 'Confirmed'... it's a SCAM.

Really, you don't have to confirm a scam, you just have to avoid the scam. If you have any doubts about buying something from a seller and/or think that a seller is sketchy and might be scammer, then don't buy from that seller. Don't even engage with the seller in any way or for any reason.
It is good for scammy sellers to get reported because once a sketchy seller gets enough reports, the seller gets shut down.
While your community minded spirit to prevent others from getting scammed is admirable, chances are you are not going to be able to prove that something is a scam unless you actually become a victim of it

A SCAM: FRAUD: RIP OFF: A SUCKER TO TAKE>>>>>and so on.

That Tacoma has been sold probably a couple thousand times. Only problem is, there is no Tacoma, just pictures. It's a super good price, though. And free shipping.

If your gut tells you it's a scam then stay far away. Thats the best advice I can give.

This just went down with a similar scammer lying about eBay. I decided to really mess with him or her😂😂
ME-
Hi, I'm interested in your 2012 Jayco. Can I come by in the morning and see it?
SCAMMER—I'm selling a very clean 2012 Jayco Jay Feather X17Z Ultra Lite 18ft travel trailer. Original owner, like new conditions everywhere, smoke-free environment, used less than a dozen times. Camper sleeps 6-8 with 2 canvas extensions (2 queen beds) and a fold down table. Features include gas stove, microwave, 6 cu ft refrigerator (runs off gas), cherry hardwood cabinets, outside grill and shower, water heater and furnace, 13,500 BTU air conditioner, AM/FM/CD/DVD player, TV antenna, awning, and many other features. Gross vehicle weight rating is 3500, Fresh water capacity is 28.5 gal. My husband passed away 4 months ago, and this camper brings back memories, so that's why I'm selling it for only $1,500. I'm working most of the time, and I chose eBay as an intermediary of this sale, so if you are interested in buying this camper and would like to know more info about how it works, please let me know asap.
Sincerely,
Laura Hawk
ME—Where is the r v? I want to see it in the morning asap? I have lots of cash and could send you lots of money as a deposit too if you want. I want to meet you. Where can we meet?
SCAMMER—Thanks so much for getting back to me. After my husband passed, I had to move to my hometown, Lawrence, KS for a new start. Before leaving I had pre-arranged the deal with eBay so my presence isn't necessary. The camper is at a shipping company chosen by eBay, sealed with all the papers. The deal includes free delivery and it will arrive at your address within 3 days with all the documents, manuals and keys. In addition, you will get a 5 days inspection period before making any purchase, and if you find something wrong with the camper, you can just return it at my expense. If you are interested in knowing more info about how it works, please reply with your full name, full shipping address and phone #, so I can notify eBay that you are selected as my possible buyer, and they will contact you to explain the entire procedure.
You can find more pictures below.
Sincerely,
Laura Hawk
(ME)(I didn’t attached the pictures here)
ME—So where is the ebay ad? I looked but didn't find anything?
SCAMMER—The camper is not posted on eBay, I paid a fee to register and close the deal through them. eBay have set up the transaction in this way. If you want to move forward and want to buy the camper from me just e-mail your info ( full name, complete delivery details: street, state, city, zip code) so I can open a case with eBay. I will forward your details to eBay and after they will open a case you will receive from them an invoice with all the shipping and payment details.
ME—-So I am assuming I can contact ebay and they can verify all this that you are telling me? Great! That makes me feel so safe. You know you never want to take chances anymore because there are a lot of scammers out there now. I just sent someone $5000 for a car and it never showed up. It was such a bad experience that my husband committed suicide right in front of me.....stuck a pistol in his mouth. Well, I don't need to describe how awful that was for me and my children to witness. Now we are homeless and looking for an inexpensive place to live so we can move out of the shelter. This money is all I have left from his last paycheck. Jeez, it will be so nice to have a place to call our own. Is there any chance I could see it first?
NEVER GOT A RESPONSE.....LOL
This person was on FB marketplace and posted this same rv in about 6 other cities for different low prices and similar pictures. .....there’s a special place in hell for these thieves 😡

I replied to a similar scam too, I sent them my work address. They replied with the usual gift card spiel, so I told them i wanted to pay with paypal instead, and I made a pretty good arguement too. I told them there was no waiting for their money, we would both be covered by a warranty, etc, etc, etc. Never heard from the "seller" again.
