Yes, using eBay's part compatibility is a double edge sword: Acknowledged.
How does File Exchange/Bulk Upload and (Automatic) eBay Part Compatibility work?
What Fields need populated to trigger (Automatic) eBay Part Compatibility?

Hi @hemmingerauto,
There are two ways of adding part compatibility with Seller Hub Reports (File Exchange). One way would be to enter each make, model, and year on a separate compatibility row in your file, for example:
Make=Toyota|Model=Corolla|Year=2020
Make=Toyota|Model=Corolla|Year=2019
Make=Honda|Model=Accord|Year=2020
That would go in the Relationship details column, below the parent row. In the Relationship column, you would enter the word "Compatibility" (without quotation marks).
You could also include Engine, Trim, and Notes (with your own notes). These are all optional.
You can download the master vehicle list at:
https://pages.ebay.com/motors/compatibility/download.html
The values you enter for Make, Model, Year, Engine, and Trim would have to match the values that are found in the master vehicle list.
If your items are in our catalog, the other method of adding part compatibility would be to specify the ePIDs (eBay Product IDs) in your file. The part compatibility in our catalog would then be used. You would enter the ePIDs in the Product:EPID column.
To find ePIDs, you could download the Car & Truck Parts Catalog at:
https://pages.ebay.com/motors/compatibility/download.html

I have tried several times using the below report to upload the compatibility to only one part, but the compatibility doesn't change! I get a success message and no errors; the item shows as revised but no change to the compatibility!
any tip on what is the issue with the below data? formatting?
