Dot, or anyone who has been there, can you tell me how long the steam train rides are and do they run rain or shine? I've booked the Radisson Lackawanna Station for a date in July. I know there are excursions but I am interested in just the every Weds thru Sun trips. We are taking the two oldest grandsons to WolfLodge indoor waterpark first then driving back to Steamtown. My wife isn't wild about steamtown but I told her she will like the accommodations. Gene

I just had an idea!! Maybe if/when we all get to meet we can do it there. I can't think of a cooler place to stay!

Gene, It must not be "right there". The museum, Strasburg Railroad and the shops are ALL within sight of each other. The motel might be down the road apiece. Trust me, I'm gonna check it out. I'll even take some shots, so we see what it REALLY looks like, as opposed to those "slick" ad photos on their webbie. Dot, Now THAT might be a way to get Denise to stay there! I'm sure Ed would stay, but like I said, it's hard to "justify" a hundred bucks a night when we live 20 minutes away! (Know what I mean?) Marc

OHHH YEAHHH! BTW From what I could tell by the maps, it looks like the Caboose Hotel is across the street from the Toy Train Museum. (but we all know how maps are!) There addresses are 300 and 312 Paradise Lane so they must be close! Needless to say, now that we have been talking about this, Ed has a nice little packette of info awaiting him on his office chair for a proposed Aug. mini-trip. I'll let you know!

Marc, Annnie doesn't buy anything unless it is at a yard sale, garage sale, flea market, on sale, or she has a coupon. She can squeeze a quarter until George Washington bleeds through his nose.....but as long as I am footing the bill, she would come along for the excursion. We have stayed at a motel across the river to get away from the kids.....or was it that neither of us was sober enough to drive?:| CJ]:) It's for you honey....relax and enjoy!!! (works for me)

Actually I brought it up last night and, as long as the other spouses are coming, she thinks it's a GREAT IDEA!!! We will be on vacation in Cape May from Aug 20-26, so keep that in mind as you peruse your calendar This COULD ACTUALLY HAPPEN!!!! Marc

My good news of the day! My hubby just called me to tell me he booked us a caboose for the 25th and 26th of August! Sounds like fun to me. Sorry we will be there when you aren't Marc! Next time. (and if its as good as you say it is there, there WILL be a next time!) Dot

We come home on the 25th and I KNOW Denise will NOT want to turn around and go sleep in another motel after almost a week away from her doggies! Too bad! Oh well, better luck next time! Marc
