hehehe. Help from a diesel. Must break your heart having to run a diesel. It is all falling into place now. Sorry couldn't resist.
Can you put any of that bullfrog snot on a set of drivers for more tractive effort?

I tried that Bullfrog Snot and was very disappointed. Unless you get that stuff on exactly even you get bumps and waddles as the loco goes down the track. Really noticeable on the curves. Also, not really affecting the tree layout, but you lose electrical pickup. The end result was that I could only pull one more car up the grade. And the stuff wears off fast. A traction tire would have been better.
The diesels are nice and quiet so the sound system for the steamer is what people hear.

I never heard feedback about the snot before so that is very interesting.. With it going on in lumps, it would adversely affect smaller scale like N drastically.
With the rubber traction tires, that must dirty up the track rails quickly and easily. Thankfully N diesels came a long ways and they don't use those rubbers anymore.
I gotta get back into my trains again here. But been an uphill battle with my stomach all week. never did modelling even as I was in bed in the evenings watching the telly.

I tried to paint on a smooth layer of the snot, per the instructions, but it is next to impossible. It goes on thick in the beginning and thins out as you go around the wheels. Makes for a bumpy ride. Maybe it could be air brushed, if you want a rubberlike glob inside the mixing chamber. Hee, hee!

I don't think an airbrush would like that crap goiing thru. It woulldn''t go thru to begin with.

Sure it would Dave. Just thin it out a bit with some white wine.........;)

Perhaps. That'd be my use for white wine. Nothing but RED with meals for me. along with the fruit wines for liquuid desert.

Use the white wine in cooking.

It is finished! The old and new tree layouts are joined. I'll have to make three posts to show it all off. Enjoy and Merry Christmas to all.

Hi Everyone,
Any Christmas Tree layouts this year? Christmas caught up with us faster than I could do anything. We are still stretched across two houses.
Hopping you had a great Christmas, and have a great New Year on the way,
Charles
