MOW Loco's

I a currently looking for a loco or two to pull my track cleaning aztec car around the various tracks to clean them when I don't want to do it by hand. I am looking/ bidding on an Atlas VO 1000 and thinking about also the LifeLike SW series maybe 1200? I have consulted the N Scale encyclopedia but if anyone has and runs these locos could you tell me if they would be good for this MOW application? I have some Lifelike GP's that frankly I am ashamed to admit I have they run so poorly. If anyone has other locomotive ideas I would also like to hear about them. Thanks for any info. Gene

Also the rules in life/business apply sometimes, if it costs money then they aren't gonna do it. So why pay all that money to repaint a MOW loco shiny gray or orange? As Pete said, re-stencil it instead. Last rule also, it's YOUR RR so do what you want to, chances are it already happened on the prototype somewhere. Also older cars were often left with their original number with the letters MOW or just MX added after them. A lot of passenger cars that were no longer fit for public service or were just phased out when certina roads stopped passenger service all together, were converted to bunkcars, sleepers, kitchen cars and general crew cars. Some roads considered the repair cars as "sets" coupled with a crane and boom car that were always ready to go out as a consist. Yellow is also a very popular MOW car color. B-) & :x

I've seen MOW equipment with the "MOW" spray painted on the side, it looked like Krylon to me.;) CJ]:)
