Are you able to see your messages using a browser?
Make sure you are using the latest version of the eBay app for your operating system. It might be worth trying to sign out of eBay in the app, and thenrestarting the app. Or even uninstalling the eBay app, restarting your device and then installing the latest version from the App Store to see if that makes any difference.
