android app invalid request - fixes dont help

Have been using the app for a couple of years without issue on my Google Pixel 4a but recently got the invalid request error. Despite clearing data/cache and deleting/reinstalling the app several times it still does not work. Has been two months since this started happening. I cannot find anything online which suggests my phone is too old to run the app and short of getting a new handset I am out of ideas.

What version of Android are you using? And which version number of the app?

The latest version of the app appears to be 6.159.0.1, I believe. If you have an older version of Google Play Services or Google Play Store, this can prevent you from getting the latest version of the eBay app, so you may need to update those.

If you have not already tried, try uninstalling the app, then restarting your device before installing the latest version. The restart in between should ensure a clean install, which may be important if a past update did not install cleanly.

Thankyou for taking the time to reply! My handset is on Android 13 and the app is the 6.159.0.1 that you mention.

Will try the restart in between and report back.

I'm just trying to use the app but it won't pull any data from the eBay server whatsoever.

I also have Google pixel 4a and have been using the app fine for many years. It forced me to update and I now have this problem too. I can't browse eBay or sign in....just this 'invalid request' message or 'something went wrong'...I've tried all of the above and more to no avail. Really not happy about this....eBay take a massive cut from what I've sold in the past and they can't even provide an app that works on my phone!
