According to the below post from an eBay rep, the UK stopped supporting older operating systems. Android 10 and iOS 17 appear to be the minimum operating system requirements for the eBay app in the UK.

If your device cannot upgrade the OS, you should still be able to access https://www.ebay.co.uk/ using a web browser on your device.
If links are automatically opening in the app you can change your settings and force them to open in your web browser, or you can delete the app which will default links to opening in your device's web browser.

I won’t bother going through web browser . Why should we have to these things are done to force people into buying new equipment. If the iPhone clame is to be believed that it had more computing power than a space shuttle then I’m sure eBay would continue to work . ! 🤪

Millions of people access Ebay through a web browser (me for one) and do just fine that way.
No one is forcing you to buy new equipment. You just don't like the alternative.

Just wanted to add this as it has so annoyed me as iv literally put 1000’s though ebay and I do mean thousands! That I am deleting all ties with eBay , when I , yes I choose to upgrade my phone , there’s one app that want be on it .. never. All this nonsense about having to constantly up grade Tec. Is just money grabbing corporates . People wake up .
