Update 16.0

Hello can you tell me why o can’t update my phone, I’m 15.8 so not a chance, does that mean I’m no longer able to use eBay ? I most certainly won’t be getting a new phone any time soon, please advise

If your operating system does not support the latest version of the eBay app and you cannot update your operating system, it should still be possible to use a mobile browser to go to ebay.com or ebay.co.uk and use eBay that way.

If eBay browser links are opening in the app automatically, iOS users should be able to tap and hold an eBay browser link and select "don't open in the app" to prevent that from happening.

This is classic Apple obsolescence. Mac users have been burned many, many times,

PC users less often.

You cannot count on using your hardware as long as you might want.

Eventually, most of the special apps on your iPhone will have the same experience.

You can probably continue to use a mobile browser until that too stops updating, and Ebay uses features in later updates.

 If your device has iOS 15 you should still be able to get a version of the app that will run on your device

1. Delete your ebay app
2. Go to the App Store, search for ebay
3. When you download it you will see this alert, tapping download should allow you to get a version that will run on your device.

Hello , following your link still don’t work as it keeps going to the app that says I need iOS 16 , clearly something not quite right, have to say I’m finding this so frustrating!!

Your Apple device is no longer supported by Apple so you won't be able to download the latest version of iOS, which is 16 or higher. The updated eBay app requires iOS to be 16 or higher.

If you're not are unable to update your device or the app you can always log into eBay with your devices web browser.

I suggest to delete the eBay app since it won't work on your device.
