Problem with Android Chrome

I have been using Chrome on my Samsung Tab 10.3 to browse eBay for a couple years without any problems. Recently however for some reason I can no longer see any way to refine searches on the left side of the screen.

For example, if I'm searching for fishing gear, I can't specify the type of fishing I do, length of a rod, number of pieces, etc. Does anyone know the cause and fix?

BTW, I don't have this problem on my desktop. I tried clearing the browser cache, and even reset the tablet to factory specs. Nothing has worked.

Is it possible that your tablet defaulting to the mobile site version of eBay? If so your URLs would start with m.ebay.com rather than www.ebay.com. You should be able to make sure the desktop site is selected using the three dot menu in the upper right corner of the screen.

On a desktop using Chrome, if I start at the main page and enter "fishing rod" (without quotes) into the search bar and hit "search", I wind up at this address:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC2.A0.H0.Xfishing+rod.T...

The category shown is "spinning rods", and I see left side filters for Brand, Rod Power, Rod Length, etc.

I get similar results using Chrome on my Android phone in desktop mode.

If you do the same search (or open that URL) using your tablet, do you wind up at the same page? Can you see any filters at all on the left side?

Are you using an ad blocker on your tablet? I have run into situations where an overly aggressive ad blocker rule was interfering with some eBay filters -- particularly the left side filters with a "see all" link that has a popup with options to check. In my case, I would get the popup box, but the choices were not there. Temporarily disabling the ad blocker was the easiest workaround, aside from using another browser.

Thanks. I don't have an ad blocker installed. I disabled pop ups & redirects and ads in the site settings - neither has any effect. Thanks again.

Thanks. While I was viewing eBay.com & not m.eBay for some reason I wasn't viewing the desktop site. So going by your advice I clicked on 'Desktop site' and it resolved the problem. Unfortunately I have to click on Desktop site every time I use my tablet. Weird - didn't have this problem until recently. Not sure what changed.

Thanks again.

Glad to hear that you have isolated the problem!

I believe that if you navigate to the main page ebay.com and then choose the desktop site, it will apply to all pages in that entire domain -- at least that's the way it has worked for me. Once in a while something might get updated or reset, but generally going back to the main page and choosing desktop site fixes it until the next update or reset.
