I am based in the UK 

I tried to access ebay via the mobile app yesterday (no problem the day before) 

Got message to say needed update 

I have an Huawei phone with playstore installed.

Tried to update via both huawei app gallery and playstore but will not do it

Uninstalled and reinstalled it also but still get same message 

Version of ebay on mobile is 6.140.0.1 

Any ideas on how to sort it out?

According to a post on the UK community boards, the latest version of the eBay app requires Android 10 or later, or iOS 17 or later.

If you cannot upgrade your operating system or find an older version of the app that works with your current operating system, you should still be able to use a browser to go to ebay.co.uk instead.

If eBay browser links are opening in the Android version of the app automatically, you can disable that by going to your device Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by default: Opens supported links and choosing "Don't open in the app". iOS users can tap and hold an eBay browser link and choose "Don't open in the app".

I have just checked and my Huawei has version 9 and won't update to any newer versions

If you have Android 9 and cannot update to a compatible OS, you can still access eBay from a web browser on your device, and you'll probably want to delete the app so links open in your browser instead of the app.
