Did you mean:

Ios18

I can no longer use eBay as my iPad is limited ios15.8.

your choice of changing this will loose you a great deal of business and is totally unnecessary.

No other banks that I know of do this to their customers.

having spoken to many of my friends, they say the same.

Doyou think you can respond to this?

Re: Ios18

I doubt you'll get a proper response. There's no proper support from eBay here. Just crap zero-feedback bot accounts telling you to use the web browser version (terrible), or to buy a new device because "planned obsolescence is a good thing and everyone's doing it" and other rubbish.

Best I can manage as another customer is to recommend reading my thread "Workaround for app access on iPhones" for a way to get the app working again. I try to keep it on the first page.

Re: Ios18

@pauled9876  first of all I did update my iPad, and I absolutely hate the 18 OS. At first I thought it was my internet connection, but that was just fine. Instead of a fast connection it takes forever to load, and any new windows I open also have horrible lag time. Everything I have read about it is bad.

So I know this doesn’t answer your question, but I wouldn’t worry about it. The app is okay, but I normally just use the regular eBay.com

@pauled9876

Instructions here: How to update your eBay app

- Requires Android 10 or later
- Requires iOS 17 or later, but there are directions for iOS 16 users to access an older version of the app

When using iOS 15 or Android 9 and not able to update to a compatible OS, you can still access eBay from a web browser on your device, and you'll probably want to delete the app so links open in your browser instead of the app.

Workaround provided by the other poster may work temporarily, but don't count on it long term. I'm sure eBay will close the loophole.

Re: Ios18

Given that the app does still function via the workaround, that implies that the block is deliberate and intentional. Why is this?
Why does a zero-feedback account seem to be so enthusiastic about eBay blocking out users of older but functional phones?

Why are you being a cheer leader for this customer service nightmare?

@gavinfdavies

Every app has minimum OS requirements, sometimes those requirements change and older versions are no longer supported.

Why would you jump to the conclusion that someone taking the time to post helpful info about how to update an app or an OS -- or how to reach eBay without using the app at all -- is "enthusiastic" about the current state of affairs or being a "cheer leader"?

Lots of veteran eBay users post with accounts other than their selling accounts to avoid drawing unwanted attention to their listings.

Re: Ios18

That zero-feedback account has taken time out of their day 24,000+ times, trying to help fellow users see how their situation should play out.

24,000 times, trying to help, doing their best.

What are you doing in your spare time to make the world a better place, ‘cause it’s not happening here.

😳That's a lot! I hope I've actually helped a decent percent of those I've attempted to help.

It stinks when the best help I can offer is information the seller/buyer doesn't want to hear, and stinks even more when I hate the answer myself (limited options, a reverse improvement change, etc).

As you said, doing my best.
