Face ID issues

I click open the app and it wants to use the use ID, which it should do to begin with. Then It flashes the Face ID box over and over again finally giving an error that I’ve tried too many times and am locked out.  It’s been doing it everyday. Sometimes it just goes away and is normal and today it’s been hours. HELP!

What app is requiring a Face ID ? Surely you don’t mean eBay? I have the eBay app on both of my Apple devices and was never required to use a Face ID. 
Are you sure it isn’t your device that is having an issue with Face ID?

It’s the eBay app. It has never required a Face ID, that’s what’s so weird. It’s not my device because I can access every other app with Face ID or not.

That is weird. 
I never log out of my app, but just for kicks I logged out , No Face ID requirement. 
Pictured are my sign in options …is yours asking for your Facebook sign in perhaps ?

Sign in with Facebook is not an option.

Looks like it’s asking for your user name or email. Or your Apple ID. 
I don’t see anything that says FaceID in that image you uploaded. 
I use my email or my eBay ID to login.

That picture is the screen I get after Face ID tries over and over again. So I try to log in manually and it goes back to the Face ID and locks me out.

That’s odd... Do you have the current app? Have you updated the app?Have you tried to delete the app and reinstall it? Turn phone off then on? 
I hope someone chimes in soon with a fix for you because I’m at a loss. Sorry.

I’ve tried all of those things. I’m completely locked out. But I log in on my PC, just fine. Too bad I do all my work on my phone…I’ll call tomorrow, but I think it’s an app glitch, so getting to talk to someone who knows what’s happening is going to take hours. I avoid calling their customer support at all cost. Thanks for your help 😤
