I have a Samsung Galaxy S9, Android phone. I was able to use the barcode until yesterday. Now when I try to scan a barcode in the Ebay app, it just sits there and doesn't do anything. Anyone have any suggestions for what might be going on? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still doesn't work. Restarted the phone, and made sure the app is updated. No change. Thanks in advance!

It appears this issue did not appear until the Samsung July Security Patch was released. I have a Samsung Galaxy A12 with the same issue now. The issue is not relegated to eBay. It also affects the SCoutIQ app as well with the barcode appearing in the Manual input field for conducting manual searches then the app stops just as the eBay app stops.
I was on the phone with Samsung Remote (India) Product Support for 45 minutes today about the issue. The tech I spoke with was not even aware of the issue until I spoke with him. After allowing him to see what was occurring through Samsung's Smart Tutor remote viewing app he attempted to provide me with the same solutions someone earlier in this thread recommended.
Unfortunately, none of them appear to work for this issue. I don't believe it is an Android OS issue as the Android 12 OS has been out since October, 2021 and no one has brought any issues similar to this that I am aware of until now. eBay's app has been stable for awhile as well.
Only SCoutIQ has had any major changes to their platform, but they have been testing it for awhile as well and I haven't heard of anyone with this issue until now. So I believe it is a Samsung SW issue connected to their new July Security Patch. Typical for a large corporation, as of now they don't appear to be interested in doing anything about it so it looks like I am going to have to buy a new phone, but it won't be Samsung for now at least!

I too am having this issue with a Samsung Galaxy S8+. It appears that many Samsung users are still having this problem. A solution from Ebay would really be appreciated, and has been ignored for 3 months now.

I am also having the same issue with the barcode scanner not downloaded prompt.
I'm using a Samsung S21 Ultra 5g
Uninstalled eBay app..
Cleared Google Play storage and cache..
Re-installed eBay app and same issue..
Definitely not the phone as its just been completely repaired via Samsung (battery swelling) and it's on the latest update of Android 12 (Sept 2022)
The eBay barcode scanner seems to work fine on my old Samsung S10+ - which ironically is not my main phone!

Having same problem. I have 2 galaxy a10e's. One barcode scanner works. Other one does not and that phone is updated. Assuming this is related to a Samsung update, but is there any way to fix it?

Still the same issue with my S9 Samsung phone. My wife has the S10 and the eBay app is working fine there. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the ebay app, still not luck. My phone OS is fully updated. Any update from eBay on this issue?

Did eBay ever provide a solution to your question? Mine “works” on an iPhone if I hold the item like blurry and tapping the blue box to focus actually does nothing. This started in July and hasn’t changed. I added a photo for comparison. I’ve don’t basic tech level support (check software version. Delete the app reinstall, sign out of eBay, turn phone off.
