Automatically good till cancelled?

When I use the iOS app to list my fixed price items, some automatically go 30 days and some automatically go good till cancelled. I don’t want any of them to be good till cancelled. But I don’t see any way to pick my own duration any more. Am I missing something? Is this an app glitch or a new way to get fee gouged by eBay?

I'm having the same problem. I feel like I'm missing something because I can't see an option to pick your own durations.

Re: Automatically good till cancelled?

They moved that option to tte advanced form on the real website. Its just another money grab. I am keeping my listings artificially low as a result, I dont want to get dinged forfees and yet its automatic on auctions too. Im ending auctions early if there are no bids. Just to avoid the auto relisting. It sucks!

Thanks for your posts. In order to allow sellers to list faster on mobile, we are testing the removal of duration options. Our data shows that longer durations perform better, provide more buyer predictability, and index more easily in search engines. This test will ensure that you are listing in a way that gives you the best chance to sell. While not recommended, you can still end and relist items on a shorter timeframe if needed.

Re: Automatically good till cancelled?

Testing!!!!!!! What the heck!!!!! I am trying to earn some $$ and all you all are doing is costing me more $$$ on fees for items that automatically relist. Horrible idea!!!! And if you want to change it then you have to save it on the app and then go to the desktop version to select a duration you want.  Time is money.  All you all are doing is driving sellers away.  There are so many other ways to sell.  Get a grip and fix the whole app!!!!!

Re: Automatically good till cancelled?

This is terrible!!! This is charging listing fees automatically now if we choose to sell fixed price. This is awful!! Please do not keep this! I’ve been selling on eBay for 20 years and NEVER have a been forced to pay fees at such a rate. This in NO GOOD! Fees should ALWAYS be chosen, not forced. Sellers should be able to list fixed price without fear of being charged fees at the end of 30 days. We can’t always be ready to cancel the items just ahead of the 30 days. Most of us work normal day jobs. Fixed price should continue to end at 30 days. Plain and simple. Don’t force fees. That’s a rip off and you’ll loose regular sellers. eBay used to be about regular people selling their unwanted stuff. It seems that eBay is now about the mass sellers selling cheap **bleep** from China. Go back to taking care of the regular people eBay!!!!

Re: Automatically good till cancelled?

Just spoke with eBay , yes there is now no option on the mobile site for auction length.  They claim that you will only pay for the first insert and then it will relist for eight times for free.  If so , this would be amazing.  I remain skeptical that we would actually gain listing without paying. I say keep an eye on your available listings to see if this is true .

Re: Automatically good till cancelled?

Same here.  Also, it changes the days of the listing, adds a Best Offer and a Best Offer dollar amount even though I do not want any of these.  All these problems occur even though I just click "Relist", changes are made on their own.    I have found the only way to fix the issue is to log onto my PC and make the changes there.  I am being charged a new listing fee everytime I make the corrections.  It's been a nightmare.

It's a nightmare!  Everytime you go in to correct the changes that were made you did not perform or want when you try to relist, you are being charged a new listing fee!!!!

Not true in my experience.  I'm being hit each time with a listing fee!

Re: Automatically good till cancelled?

Sellers should have a choice. I like to control my inventory, and listings. You hid this change in an update described as "bug fixes and performance enhancement." It has dramatically increased my time and makes your platform less useful. I now have to start a draft on the app, and finish it on my PC. The feedback here is uniformly negative. I have a store and have been on here nearly 20 years - Get rid of this or lose me.

Re: Automatically good till cancelled?

if they're not just making this up, and I wouldn't put it past them, they need to tweak the app. This is what it actually says:

Listings renew automatically every 30 days, based on the listing terms at that time, until all quantities sell or the listing ends. Each time a listing renews and when an item sells, you’ll be charged applicable fees.

I also love the fact that there was radio silence on this. The app update said "bug fixes." No warning in the seller update either. If they thought this was a positive, they would have been trumpeting it

Re: Automatically good till cancelled?

Regardless of what your data shows, why would you remove an *option*? Shouldn't it still be my choice if I want my listing up for 5 days or forever? That's kind of ridiculous honestly. Please add the option back, people have been asking for months.

Re: Automatically good till cancelled?

That’s poppycock

if you wanted it at lightning speed you wouldn’t waste my time at the end of eg revising, asking if I want to use this option, that option, before being able to click DONE, said options being a choice between paying more to promote the listing, and accepting a lower price.
