Android application language in FInland

When I install the ebay android application and open it, I cannot continue because interface is representing itself in russian language with cyrillic font. Neither I nor propably 99,9% of my finnish fellow citicens cannot understand the page at all and what to do to identify yourself with ones account.

My phone Nokia 6.1 with Android 10 is set to use finnish language. This phone is very rarely used abroad on short holiday trips, but never in Russia.

English language will do nicely in Finland for most of the potential users, if you don't have translation in finnish for the interface.

So very easy way to drop potential 5 million customers out of android application use. 🤣🤣🤣

Using the eBay app, I can change my country setting to Finland without it affecting the alphabet used. It is possible that the network you are using or your actual location, along with your phone's native language setting is playing a part in how some features work, though.

Possibly it is just a glitch.

Try uninstalling the eBay app, restarting your device and then installing the latest version of the eBay app from the Google Play Store to see if that allows you to use the eBay app without the Cyrillic alphabet.

If that does not help, you should still be able to use a browser to reach ebay.com directly.
