Using the latest Android app, I woke today to find an annoying bug which is causing all pics to appear only in very low resolution.
This is effecting every listing, mine as well as any others I looks at.
After clicking on a listing the main picture appears for a split second in high res, then as the rest of the page loads the image converts to low res, and that's how it remains. If I click to open an image it's low res, if I zoom in it's all pixels.
This wasn't the case yesterday, all pictures were loading fine before today. I've tried wiping cache and data and reinstalling to no avail. I've switched WiFi connections and tried on mobile data, it's all the same low res. My internet connection is great at hundreds of mb/s.
I cannot see any settings that toggle the resolution of images. As a comic book seller it's important I'm able to see high resolution images of potential purchases to check condition. If I go to eBay on a browser all images load in high res just fine, it seems to be an app only problem.
As I conduct my business exclusively via my phone, and I routinely browse through perhaps 2000 listings a day, it's not practical to use the browser website instead of the app, but right now the app isn't functioning either.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated?
Thanks.

Just yesterday, for the 1st time I have installed the eBay app on my android phone which should make it the "latest" app.. Not tech savvy, but I logged in by clicking the new icon on the phone screen. I would think that that would means I am using the app. I see no photo resolution issues.
EDIT: now I may see what you are talking about. If I check a "sold listing I see an individual photo that is clear, and then below that a row of slightly fuzzy photos . 1st time ever viewing my sold listing photos using the app, so I do not know if this is new or not.

I am not noticing any difference in the APP while using an Android phone. FYI

@the-nigel-challinor-collection I can confirm - experiencing this myself and also seeing other reports across Reddit and other social media.
With the Android app version 6.185.1.1 everything was loading normally in the expected amount of time and at the expected resolution.
Then immediately after updating to 6.186.0.2, everything is very slow loading - everything else is the same as far as the wifi connection, device etc, only the app version changed
On item pages like you said it will initially load the low res version of images and/or some of the images will initially be missing and will only load after 10+ seconds.
Category pages are much the same - bubbles or boxes that would normally have thumbnail images are initially blank, with the images only loading after several seconds.
And it's not just images, when tapping on a listing from a category page it initially seems like it didn't "register" the tap, taking several seconds for anything on the screen to change/respond and start to load the listing page.
devon@ebay kyle@ebay can you get this reported to the correct mobile app team please? All the reports I've seen so far say they are using Android and several, like this post on Reddit, also specifically mention it only started happening after the update to 6.186.0.2, so that should hopefully point them in the right direction.

@the-nigel-challinor-collection and anyone else experiencing this, you can also use the "shake to report" functionality in the app to report the problem directly to eBay's tech department by shaking your phone.
If you don't know how that works, @wastingtime101 just posted a helpful guide in the tech issues board.

Not sure who may be working or taking time off for the holiday so I'm also going to tag in elizabeth@ebay in case Kyle and Devon, tagged above, are out of the office.
Anybody experiencing this issue should physically shake their phone while the eBay app is open. That will open up a screen to submit a tech report and the more people reporting, the quicker eBay will take action.
App updates are typically released on Mondays so I assume this came with yesterday's Android update. I'm in the middle of doing 10 different things right now, but when I have a minute to breathe I'll check iOS to see whether or not that's affected. I'm guessing not if all the reports so far have been about Android.

Thanks @wastingtime101 .
And just in case it's helpful for anyone, here are a couple screenshots.
On this page, the thumbnails did all eventually load but it was a long delay
Initially the main image was very low res/blurry but it starting clearing up just as the screenshot took (so it was several seconds of loading and you can see it's still a little pixelated) and you can also see the thumbnails for some of the images still had not loaded by that time.
I had a similar experience on every item, category and other pages I tried to navigate too.

Wow thanks all for the quick responses. This is my first time using this forum – I'm impressed.
Some more info in case it might be useful:
app version: 6.186.0.2
Some screenshots of the issue...
1. After clicking a listing the main pic loads in high resolution for just a split second before the rest of the page loads in:
2. As the listing loads in fully the pic flashes and is replaced by a low res version:

@iamjackbauer724 @tronrust - I saw you both recently posted in the Mentors board about issues with how images are displaying.

I can't respond to those posts, but just wanted to let you know if you're using the Android app, this update issue may be the reason.
