Does anyone know what this medal is and when it was made? I am trying to identify this medal and I am not even sure it is military but it looks similar to some WWII medals. However it has a C clasp which may indicate that it is older.
It says “Honi soit qui mal y pense” on the shield and “Dieu Tea mon droit” at the bottom.
I can’t read what is on the back other than the letter “S”.

Hi there,
I think you are right in that this isn't a military piece. I've seen similiar quill designs on scholastic and poetry awards, and this probably fall into that category... perhaps maybe even for some sort of administration work. Based on the crown it looks to be Victorian era. Sorry this wasn't a definitive answer, but I hope it narrows your search. Beautiful item regardless.
