Buyer wants full refund, but does not want to return item

I have a buyer who is claiming a pair of flip flops is defective.  At first it appeared whe wanted to keep the shoes, so I offered a partial refund.  She wants a full refund & refuses to send the shoes back.  She claims they are useless (which I do not agree with).  She keeps mentioning my seller rating and says she does not want to open a case, as she knows this is detrimental to my seller rating.  She says returning them is too much trouble,  but they can be mailed first class in the original shipping envelope.  How can I resolve this?

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I was asking for my daughter.

Don't be afraid to respond in a way that sound like you're kind of dumb.  I do this all the time when I get a buyer who wants to bully me.

I just keep repeating the same thing over and over in the same way and don't argue with them.

So in your case, I would just repeat the original options I gave the buyer.

personally, I wouldn't want the flip flops back as they won't be resellable but if the buyer wants a partial then they're not as defective as claimed and if the buyer doesn't want to return them then that tells you right there what the game is.

Just repeat your offer as if they didn't hear you the first, second or third time.  Don't say NO or WELL FINE THEN OPEN A CASE or anything that indicates that you recognize they're trying to bully you.  Just keep repeating what you originally offered.

Eventually buyers like that figure the seller is hopelessly stupid and give up.
