Printing a UPS Shipping Label - Why is it so hard now?

It used to be so easy. What did they do? Who thought this was a good idea? Before, I would just click on "Print a Label" and the rest was a piece of cake. Now I have to involve the actual UPS web site. Don't get me started on how awful their web site is. Why is it awful? Because it doesn't work for starters. Also, when I was finally able to print my shipping label, it cost almost $2.00 more than what the buyer paid. So, I went to the item I sold and did a "calculate shipping" and sure enough the buyer wasn't at fault. UPS charged more than the eBay calculator comes up with.
