Purchased an Apple leather case for an iPhone X that was described as original/authentic. However, I received a counterfeit. Seller is happy to refund if I return and continue selling counterfeits. Why should I return the item for the refund?
FTC and Customs/Border Agency prohibit placing counterfeit consumer goods into the stream of commerce. Thus, returning a counterfeit, i.e., mailing it, constitutes a violation of trade and trademark laws. The item must be destroyed because its existence is illegal. eBay has no true recourse other than reporting the item as counterfeit, which I have, yet seller keeps selling counterfeits. Anyone have any advice?
