Billing and Invoices

Hi, I am not a regular user of ebay. i purchases an item a couple of weeks ago. i got an email from ebay saying it had been shipped. When i tried to track the order from the link in the email, it said i was neither the buyer or the seller. when i entered my ebay account it said there were no record of any purchases in the last 6 months. The order is due from may 22nd to jund 16th. Should i wait till it is overdue before i do anything??  Thanks for your help
