Help identify Mexico Silver Hallmark

Hi everyone! I have a silver bracelet from Mexico. The Silver and Mexico are written in cursive writing. There is also an L in a circle. I have researched until my eyes bled with no luck! Any help would be wonderful!

@irene211 Boy, it may be tough but here's food for thought. The circled L probably stands for the city in which it is made and I'm assuming that your piece is of more recent craftmanship than a period piece.

After 1979, you'll find Mexico pieces stamped with a letter first indicating city than followed by another letter indicating the artist. Unfortunately there are very few records kept unless they are well known designers/artists in Mexico.

Any other stamping on your piece?

Thank you so much for your reply. Unfortunately, no, there is no other stamping identification. Thanks for giving me a place to start! Carole

With respect, I would not bother putting more effort into identifying your piece. Sell or enjoy it as is. I don’t think you’ll ever be successful. Billie Hougart is the “Bible” for NA and Mexican silver ID and your stamp is noted as not attributed on page 220 of the 2006 edition. At most, you can check a later edition of “The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks”.

“L” Inside a circle.  Silver Mexico (script).

The “L” is the maker, not the city.

According to the Silver collection site it states that the 1st letter stands for the city and the second letter is the artist but the OP has only one letter "L"and this was implemented 1980 on Mexico silver.

But agree that OP should enjoy this piece for what it is, I'm sure it's lovely.

Again, respectfully, that is a maker mark, NOT a city according to both Billie Hougart, the recognized source for Mexican silver ID and by myself as a collector of vintage Mexican silver since the 60s.

That is NOT a post eagle City ID mark.

Thank you to all that have replied. It is a nice piece! I believe there are brown topaz stones set in it, very fetching. I really appreciate all of your help 🙂

You should show the picture of the whole bracelet on front and back. 🙂

Jsales is right that the L in a circle is the maker NOT the city.

You're welcome! The prones? Or prongs? Would that help in knowing if if was handcrafted or professional?
