1. Its old, and costume, definately looks like the stone is a made item, to look like a real stone thats been carved. I have seen heavy(solid) pendant castings simular to this before from the 70's, & 80's. the center of setting is pewter or another metal base that was also black originally. The rest of the setting looks like they used a bronze plate or paint. The black was heavily done to give it the antiqued look. Unless it was some piece in a designers costume jewelery line to have collectors, it is in pretty rough condition. Sorry I might not have given you anything, but the 70's to early 80's might help.
