Please help identifying a big handmade piece

This looks to handmade and I am wondering if it could be a bolo - or what?

It looks to be copper with a silver overlay and maybe parrot wing jasper.

it is about 2" x 2-1/4".  I can see 7-3-83 engraved - must be a homemade project.

It is very unique.  Any thoughts as to what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

This looks very much like a Native American piece and is definitely a Bolo. I'd test it for silver as many "Old Pawn" pieces are unsigned as they were not created to sell, but rather intended for gifting or personal wear.
