I picked up this glass tip top display table today from my Savers Thrift for $20.00. I was so excited to see it, all's I could picture was my Victorian jools and trinkets in it.
All the sides are glass as well.
Needs to have the brass parts wiped a bit, there's polish residue all built up.
Am I crazy for being so happy to find it that I couldn't wait to show you guys ?
My family just shrugs their shoulders...lol.

Thanks !
Yes Sarah, I'll show it filled up with jools and a small Vic. photo album I have, oh...and a sterling lorgnette, and a magnifying glass, ambros...*sigh*.
I think I need another one.
I guess these are called vitrine tables.

Thanks Dream.
It's going to take me forever to get that white powdery gunk out of the brass details.
I forgot, it was Senior Day at Savers so I had Kev buy it to get the 20% off as well, so it was $16.00.

I also love the look of the slightly tattered silk (?) or fabric on the bottom. And is the top piece of glass beveled?

Yes, beveled glass on the top and bowed glass on all 4 sides.

Get a BIG bottle of Heinz ketchup. LOL! Senior discount. Even better!

No holes in the material, just fade spots and some darkened areas.

Personally, I definitely would buy such an item IF I had enough antique jewelry to stock it with. (I don't, but I could change that....) I just can't think of anything more appropriate for displaying some really cool, old jewelry.
Just love it.
