I think this could be a chance to study less common attributes.

It does look very close (my hubby pointed out way more stones) and I saw some other Brooches do use the square cups for smaller accent stones.

The one thing that made me think D&E is the halo around the center stone is a chain. I vaguely remember that it was posted that a halo ring with a chain was a characteristic to look for.
