Just wanted to let you know about a site I came across called Foto fuze. Maybe folks here already know about it, but if not, I just thought to pass this site and info along.
I am not very technical and take pretty straight forward pictures. This has really improved the quality and look of pics for me.
You just sign up and join. It is free.
Very simple to use.

Best part is that it is just so easy to use ....just point and click with the mouse, outline the area you want to highlight ... and that's all it takes.
I just did this one now and it took me all of 1 minute in total.

Especially useful for those of us with cats, because there are always cat hairs in the background, no matter how much we try. Also the plain white seems to make the jewelry pop.

That was fun!
1st pic is what I posted on the weekend treasure thread that I have already edited it myself
2nd pic I went back & l tried to make background even whiter myself. Note how 'brassy' the pin looks now
Last pic is done with Fotofuze
COOL!!

Unbelievably simple to use. I always wondered how folks did that. Now I know thanks to Arlene.

So glad to have been able to share this with you!
Yes, Tex, I always wondered it I needed some fancy software program because I would look at all the professional looking pictures and wish I could also have a pristine white crisp background in some of my pics.
I thought it might be complicated and fiddly, but not at all. Takes a bit of practice and tweaking, but not much at all.
Sarah ... great illustration of how Fotofuze leaves the colors more natural than if we try to tweak the exposure ourselves.

Well pooh!
It won`t work with my clothing items cause the background is not flat. I take pics against white louvered doors in my kitchen that is the only white background I have lol Oh well..maybe I can make a sheet backdrop to use & that will be flat enough. That will be great if I can!

That's too bad, but I bet a sheet would work.
I was just reading a few tips on the Fotofuze blog, and a flat white or black untextured background is apparently best.
So several of my examples could look better if I change the original background. Interesting.
It does take some trial and error, but it is fun to play with, and see which results are best.

WOW-Thanks Arlene!!!
I'm off to bookmark this site Love the way it gets rid of the "funky background" colors

Hi Peach,
I believe that it's possible with Etsy listings, but I'm not sure about eBay. There is a tutorial on Youtube (I haven't watched it unfortunately) that shows you how to use Fotofuze for eBay listings ... I can't seem to link to it, but if you google Fotofuze eBay it will come up.
