I want to list this but I've never seen one quite like this What do you think about age and origin? The spring/sport ring would date it a bit but it's not the same color as the rest of the necklace I'm still thinking that it is original to the necklace but I'd love to hear from you guys I'm hoping the dark spots clean up as this is such a pretty necklace TYIA

I don't think that spring ring is original--it looks like it had some sort of fold over clasp originally.

Hmmmm..I dunno..in googling immages of vintage gold tone bookchain necklace (which I know this is not a true one)..

I see other examples of necklaces with this type of clasp..along with the fold over and the shepherd`s hook.

So it is possible it is original to the necklace

It`s not a 'true' bookchain..but thru the evolution of Ebay it`s what most people refer to it as. I always use this 'disclaime'r when I list any of them. I don`t put in title tho.
