Can't locate another one like this on any site unless it is mis-described - any clues to maker would be appreciated. I actually bought the lot because I was so curious about this piece.

I dont want to give you false hopes but it really could be a genuine emerald! That was a lot of work in that frame and teh back is open to allow the light in. I would check with a jeweler or zap it with a presidium if you have one. Are there any markings on teh metal? A lack of markings doesnt always mean it isnt gold it could be an antique.
I bought a box of "rhinestones" that turned out to be emeralds and sapphires with a few tiny diamonds so you never know. I would hate to see you list a $300 emerald for $39.99

Funny - using the keywords emerald pagoda pendant, I found a sold listing on another site with pagodas of the same structure - it was Joseff of Hoillywood, I believe. No emeralds - just got lucky - thank you for the help!

Odd mix of styles too - notice those are Roman sea horses but on an Asian pagoda?

I found another Joseff brooch with Asian characters and Roman seahorses (I TOLD my husband they were horses and he said those are dragons!) - but you're right, they are the seahorses...very odd - I am hanging on to this one until I can find out more about it - I suspect it is part of a much larger piece, and was held onto to wear as a simple pendant. A mystery, still, but not as mysterious as it was, thanks to your help!
