Does the spring ring on this make it older or could it have been a replacement?

Was justwondering about the age of this necklace   It's a crazy 60" long and I am thinking the beads are supposed to imitate amber   It's kinda pretty even with the edges being worn on the faceted beads   What do you think?  TYIA

It`s pretty. I`m surprised a necklace that long even had a clasp!  lol

I suppose it`s possible one of the amber beads was damaged and this is how previous owner 'fixed it'.  But of course it could be original to it.  Hard to tell

These long necklaces could be wrapped around the neck several times which made it easier to do with a clasp.

Not sure if this is an original clasp or not though, wish I could help.

*Edited to add that the patina and color are a close match and those brown beads look like they have quite a bit of wear so I'm going to say it's very vintage and the clasp is original.
