What in the world is this thing?

Came from my 90 year old great aunt's home.  It's glass, about 4 1/2" long, very sharp point on the end.  Wood carrying case.  Any guesses greatly appreciated!!!

Picture is not close enough. It looks like an old ink fountain pen from here. I am not sure because the tip is not visible enough.

Is the tip glass, too? If metal, I was thinking seam ripper.

@john-maggie

Your photo is not  clear enough to be able to see the details in the tip. We would need a close-up photo at higher resolution and sharply focused.

It looks like the white part is a handle ... the tip appears to be a coppery color, shading to black at the tip ... are those two wires running the length of the tip? or is it an artifact of the low-resolution photo?
