Help ID vintage hardware

Would appreciate help identfying this old piece of hardware.  Looks a tad like a coat hook but open to all thought.  It measures 8 inches long and has no markings   Thanks

it is hand made in a blacksmith shop,with the use of two of these,possible used to hang a firearm over fireplace/front door.

I don't believe it is to hang a firearm.   I'm also not sure it isn't a decorative piece of curtain rod hardware made in India and sold at some place like Home Goods. You see a lot of this stuff coming from those stores.
