Vintage Sewing Pattern Question

I recently received a large lot of vintage sewing patterns that I plan on listing. I was wondering if there is any way of dating these? ObviousIy I can get a general idea based on the pattern style and picture on the front but some of these are unopened and I don't see copyright dates etc on the outside of the package. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Michelle

I wouldn't bother putting a specific date on a pattern with no copywrite on the envelope; I'd just say 'circa 19XX' with your best year guess. Or, you might be able to look up date info on the Vintage Patterns wikia.

Vintage Sewing Pattern Question

Hi Michelle,
I too have vintage sewing patterns. Mine are ones that I just never got around to make and now the size would not fit me. If you look at the back of the pattern package some have a date on the bottom or within the supply area of what you need to make the outfit.

I hope you have good luck sell the patterns.

Best wishes.

Vintage Sewing Pattern Question

McCalls has the dates on their patterns.

The rest of the pattern makers can be identified by the changing pattern graphics.

Most buyers search by era,   1960's,   1950's and so on.

Make sure  you count the pieces to make sure that are complete.

If the pattern is unused factory fold or FF is searched.
