That's odd, for sure.
Let's assume you've heard of Murphy's Law.
Look in your Summar-> Buy-> Purchase History.
Is it there?
If so pay and the item will turn up in your mailbox early in the New Year.
Problem solved.
If it is not there, hmm.
It is possible that your bid was rejected because of Unpaid Item Strikes/ Destination Not Accepted by Seller/ Seller Cancellation.
Contact the seller and ask if there is a problem.
Most likely however, there was another bidder with a higher maximum bid and while for a nano-second you showed as the high bidder, the next nano-second that bid was seen by the 'bots and he won.
For example.
I like an item with an opening bid of $10.
I really want it so I bid $100.
It opens to me at $10.
You come along and bid $25.
Your bid is accepted as $25 but I am still the winner at $26.
Or , you also bid $100 but I win because my identical $100 bid was placed earlier.
