I bought a product here that turned out to be something that had exceeded its shelf life.
When I attempted to use the product, it didn't work. So, I had to go through the hassle of packaging up a return and taking it to the Post Office. I ended up buying a BRAND NEW item from the ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER for less than I paid here.
The end result was a seller who wouldn't communicate and respond to messages. Instead, I had to be bothered with returning the item. Yes, I got a refund but it wasted my time.
I left negative feedback that is well deserved.

Well at least you got a refund. Same issue here, but past 30 days and Ebay does not step in against a seller who plays dead, hiding behind ''out of office because Chinese National Week''.
Just called my bank, they asked me to come with evidence and they will do a ChargeBack.

Return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in for a refund.

I actually did both. I returned the item the same day the return label came through AND filed a dispute with my credit card carrier. The dispute will close when they see the credit. Always do both. That way, you never have to be concerned about being caught holding the bag.

Actually, never do both at the same time. Once eBay is bypassed, they will not work with you.
Go through eBay first. If, yours is a rare case where eBay does not refund, then go to PayPal.
As a last resort, go to the credit card or bank for your refund.

Your response is dead wrong. There is NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING in the eBay user agreement that suggests that any remedy becomes moot once a credit card dispute is filed. You show me the contract language and I'll change my position.
Legally, eBay cannot tie their position to credit card charge disputes since those are permitted under Federal law and take priority over anything that they might put in their user agreement, if they ever did. You cannot be compelled to give up your rights under Federal law.
You are giving people BAD ADVICE.

I'm not dryophelia but there will be no eBay remedy if a chargeback is filed because the buyer's payment institution decides the outcome, making it moot.

eBay can write whatever they want but they are not the law. I would agree that if you file a chargeback AFTER a refund is given, that is a questionable act. However, I cannot be compelled to give up my right as a cardholder.
Filing a cardholder dispute is not an "other resolution method" because nothing is resolved, per se, only the charge being reversed.

Ebay does not say you give up any right as a card holder. I am not sure why you even think that.

You become frustrated when I poke holes in your arguments. I can appreciate that.

as I recall, the transaction involved printer carts or such?
Looks like your feedback was removed?

Exceeded? So it lasted longer than its shelf life and you're complaining about that?
