   You can use a 9 volt battery

thanks for res[ponding. I did try that, because I use the 9V battery to test the C7 bulbs but it didn't seem to work. Unless if course all my bulbs are dead. which is a possibility. Thank you.

Use a multimeter set for ohms/resistance. This will do a continuity check of the filament.

I am with Renee. I tried the 9 volt and it didn't work. I tried my ohm meter and it shows a complete circuit.  I am stumped.
