I'm not sure when the drop down under My Ebay, Recently Viewed Items, was added, but I believe it was this year.
It has always been helpful to see recently viewed items on the left side of your page, but those fall off after a few as new ones take their place. The drop down
lets you scroll back through several pages and is really very helpful.
