I usually stay signed in to the community discussion boards and have multiple tabs open, but lately I have noticed problems staying signed in to the discussion boards on ebay.co.uk and ebay.com.au.
Some combination of the following seems to allow me to sign back in when I find myself signed out and using the "sign in" or "register" or "join" links just kick me back to the main community page.
Go to your eBay account Site Preferences page and scroll to the bottom to make sure the "keep me signed in" boxes are checked for both eBay and the community pages and hit "apply". You should only need to do that once per site for each computer.
If you are using Firefox, try disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection on both ebay.com and community.ebay.com using the little shield icon that appears to the left of the page address in the browser address bar:
Check the little icon that looks like a LEGO if it appears; it may be asking for permission to run Adobe Flash or JavaScript on the site.
Try signing out of ebay.com entirely using the link in the upper left corner of the page, then sign back in. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the link to the discussion boards and use that. You may be signed in at that point; if not, try reloading the page or signing in again.
I was able to access the community on my cellphone this morning but couldn't log into the community on my pc until I restarted my computer.
I had just started my computer for the day too.

@drusalina Today I logged out of my main ebay account. Tried the log in to the community ( which of course failed) went to site preferences and UNCHECKED the stay login boxes and I was then automatically signed into the community.
None of the sign-in workarounds seem to work every time though.
Ebay needs to FIRE Khoros!
Those workarounds do not work for me, I followed the instructions to a T. I NEVER log off/sign out of Ebay, nor the Community, nor do I ever shut off my computer.
This has been going on for several WEEKS. Sometimes it will take almost a half hour to sign in to the Community, sometimes I just give up in frustration. One method that works infrequently is to find one of my old posts in my browser history, and click on that, which SOMETIMES lets me back in.
This is soooo frustrating!
