In reference to best practices on this board can anyone explain what they are?
Some people use words like "common sense", "accepted practices", and "posting etiquette".
Many of these posts that mention "best practices" seem to be individual opinion and not a general "best practice"

IMO
"best practises"... want ebay wants members to do to produce company more revenue
"common sense"... sorta self explanatory to most people
"accepted practices"... what ebay allows that may hopefully produce revenue
"posting etiquette" that is explained here... http://community.ebay.com/t5/Welcome/Rules-of-Engagement/m-p/26164369
I doubt IT will, but I hope this Helps.

Best practices are all dependent on outcomes.
For example in the arena of service if a practice method causes a better emotional service for a client and helps to create client loyalty and an emotional attachment ,then that practice distinguishes itself
as the BEST PRACTICES.
THIS IS BASED BY MANY RESEACH GROUPS INCLUDING THE HARVARD BUISINESS REVEIW.

I was specifically referring to the ebay boards. I was not asking for a set of ebay rules of engagement.

Hi @mallontown the Community guidelines do include some "rules" but also a lot of best practices. If you're looking for best practices in terms of the eBay Community, the Guidelines are the place to go.
